Road damage happens due to traffic, soil and environmental conditions and possible construction errors. The most important road surface type of damage is classified into three major categories:
- the cracks
- the deformations
- and decomposition – grinding
Extensive damage usually requires some reconstruction of the pavement. Nevertheless, performing basic maintenance work in order to maintain the level of service, prevents extensive damage that is dangerous for the road user and costly for the maintenance carrier.
BITUWORKS contributes to the effective ́”repair” ́of cracks in pavements and therefore to the extension of the life of the roads, by sealing the cracks with special bituminous mastics of hot or cold application. The sealed crack, with materials that have good adhesion to the substrate and the ability to bridge and seal the cracks, prevents the penetration of moisture and water, which destroys and further cracks the asphalt pavements.
